Before someone undergoes surgery to switch their genders, they have to complete a therapy process to establish that it’s the right thing, that they “really were born in the wrong body,” but not everyone gets the surgery because after the therapy, they realized that they were wrong.

If you’re married, and have children, and you have sex with your wife all the like it’s your job, you love her and your family, you’re so happy, how can you be bi?

It just doesn’t make sense to me.

I understand people are going to call me ignorant, and a gay hater, and other nasty things, but I haven’t said one nasty thing about anyone in this. I’m just expressing how I feel, because I just don’t understand it.

You may in fact be entitled to feel this way. I am entirely justified in “expressing” my expereince with this and conveying to you factual information that contridicts your ignorant, ill-informed, and offensive post, as well.

In your post, you make mention of individuals who do not feel as though they were born into the correct body. Transgender is a term used to describe people who may act, feel, think, or look different from the gender that they were born into. An example of this could be a female with the gentic composition of a cis-gendered ( one Y chromosome and one X chromosome). An individual who identifies as transgendered, may choose to have a gender-reassignment surgery. I would like to draw specific attention to the word choose. Gender-reasssignment surgery does in fact require prior therapy with a licensed psychologist. Individuals have the right to go through with this surgery, just as they have the right to refrain from having surgery. All surgies have the chance of mal-practice, complication, death, etc. Gender-resignment surgery is extremely expensive and can cause total lose of sexaul pleasure. I can certainly mentalize as to why an individaul would not want to have this surgery after having been informed of every possible consquence of the operation; poeple are also entitled to just not want it.

As a lesbian who has been raped and molested, I feel entirely competent in refuting your comment. I have not chosen to like women. In saying “they decide they like girls” you are implying lesbians were given the choice to be a lesbian- Which also implies that they have chosen to be ridiculed by society, that they have chosen to possibly have a marriage that will not recogniozed by the law, etc. I find comfort and security in women. I find companionship and friendship; I find hope for the future and passion. I find love. I do not think this is related to the fact that I was raped or molested.

If you truly believe being a lesbian, idnetifying as a transgendered individual, being gay or bi-sexual, etc. is a choice, than why dont you wake up one morning and decide to be of the opposite gender and hate yourself for who you are. Or why dont you try having sex and truly loving someone of the same gender for who they are. I can not comprehend how you have the capacity to believe that an indiviudual would chose to be hated for the person they are.

I understand that you may be ignorant and uneducated about this topic, but please- do us all a favor.. research things you do not understand, talk to someone who does, try and be open..
